Cumbria in Bloom Awards

Dane Ghyll has been awarded the title of Best School Garden in Cumbria at an awards ceremony in Carlisle. Mrs Postlethwaite and Year 6 pupil Daniel attended the event at the Sands Centre and were delighted to come away with seven awards, including first prizes in both the Edible Gardening and Decorative Garden categories, joint first in the Sensory/Quiet Garden and runner up places in the Wildlife Habitats, Container Garden and Enriching and Widening the Curriculum categories.

The school also received prize money totalling £175.

Dane Ghyll School is located on the edge of Barrow-in-Furness, near to Furness General Hospital and Furness Abbey. We provide an inspiring education in a safe, caring environment, enriching the lives of the children who attend our school.

LATEST WEBSITE UPDATES...

Dane Ghyll Moodle is our secure online learning environment. Pupils have their own username and password and can log in to Moodle from any computer with an Internet connection. Moodle is a useful learning resource; there are courses which support class topics, children can practise their times tables or learn to tell the time and can find information on homework and spelling tests. A course for Key Stage 1 parents, 'Help Your Child with Phonics' is also now available.
